NAT’s Statement on Kidnapping of Sharofidin Gadoev

Шарофиддин Гадоев

According to the statement of the Interior Ministry of Tajikistan, one of the leaders of the Tajik National Alliance (NAT) has “voluntarily” returned from Russia to Tajikistan today (15.02.2019).

In fact, Sharofiddin Gadoev, according to our sources, has visited Russia with the invitation of some persons in Russia. But, he was unfortunately kidnapped by the Tajik security services with the help of some Russian corrupt circles.

Unfortunately, we have witnessed the results of such cooperation between Tajik security services and some Russian corrupt circles were the abductions of many Tajik activist, such as Ibrohim Maksudov, Ehson Odinaev, Naimjon Samiev, etc.

The National Alliance of Tajikistan will provide you with more details later.

We are confident that Mr. Gadoev will be also tortured and he will be soon or later giving a statement about his “voluntarily return”. (A few minutes before, a video of Gadoev was published)

The National Alliance of Tajikistan (NAT) fully declares that his “return” was not voluntarily, as Tajik government claims, but his abduction was result of a kidnapping special operation.

The NAT asks the international community and human rights international organizations, especially Netherland, a country which gave him political asylum to urge the government of Tajikistan to stop abductions of political opposition.

Similarly, the NAT urges the government of Russian Federation to make an end to the cooperation of such Russian corrupt circles with Tajik security services.
